Professional Development

Excellence Pathways are a series of programmes designed to support teachers at all stages of their career. Whether they are developing, enhancing or mastering their craft we have a programme that will refine and enhance, knowledge, understanding, focus and practice support individual and team improvement.

Developing Your Craft
Early Careers and
Recently Qualified Teachers

From September 2021 schools will need to ensure that the provision of the Early Careers Framework is in place. Meraki Education can support this by working with you to create and deliver high quality programmes that meet the ECF criteria.

We have also developed a separate Recently Qualified Teacher programme for teachers in their second year who will have faced unprecedented disruption to their ITT and NQT year due to COVID 19.

Enhancing Your Craft

Through the enhancing your teaching craft programme we have developed a course based around a set of core centralised pedagogies. We work with teachers using our micro/macro model to examine a range of key classroom aspects to deliver student progress  including:

  • classroom management and behaviour for learning,

  • ensuring challenge

  • explanation and modelling

  • deliberate practice

  • questioning and feedback

Mastering Your Craft

Often within Education experienced teachers feel like they have to make a difficult choice: tread water and stay in the classroom doing what they love or move away from the classroom, into leadership to gain progression.

At Meraki Education we believe that this isn't binary: that our experienced classroom teachers should be highly valued and encouraged to become masters of their craft, developing domain specific expertise and knowledge and utilising this to develop others. Our 'Mastering your Craft' course aids this process and gives these valuable teachers the confidence to develop and progress.
